CLASS 9: QUILTING

GENERAL:

  1. All articles for exhibit in this class must be the handiwork of the exhibitor. All quilts must be quilted by hand (HQ), machine (MQ) or both. MQ must state “Domestic” or “Long Arm” on back of tag. Absolutely NO Computer Guided Quilting is permitted. Quilting is defined as a running stitch that passes through top, batting and backing. Tied quilts are not eligible unless stated in the section.
  2. Items must be completed after August 2020 and may not be submitted more than twice for judging.
  3. All items must be in good condition and clean. Quilts must be free of any odours such as tobacco, perfume, mildew, pet – incomplete, soiled, stained or damaged quilts will NOT be judged.
  4. Exhibitor may only make one entry per section.
  5. All decisions of judge(s) are final. Committee reserves the right to reject any entry or to move a quilt into a different category. Quilts are judged on general appearance, design and workmanship in accordance with the OAAS Judging Standards.
  6. Champion and Reserve Champion Rosettes will be awarded for to those quilts judged to be superior in general appearance, design and workmanship in both Hand Quilting and Machine Quilting. All quilts entered into this class are eligible.

If you are using your own design/pattern, please state design source as original.
